Ruffner, George Edward

A photo, age 76, died Jul 9, 2002, at Pryor Okla. Born Sep 27, 1925 to Walter Ray Ruffner and Theta Leith Ruffner, in Effingham county Illinois. A veteran, he entered the U.S. Army in Jan of 1943. While in the service he was wounded in action and received a Purple Heart, along with a Bronze Star. Oct 24, 1945, Ruffner was discharged and returned home to Mason Illinois. Married Ruth Lavonne Byers on Nov 22, 1945 in Effingham, she survives. In 1979, the family moved to Miami where Ruffner worked with the Miami police department and started traveling with World Mission Builders. In 1989, he and his family moved to Inola Kansas. Burial in Highland cemetery, Inola.
