Born Dec 26, 1920 at Cleveland Ohio, to Anthony Joseph Pollock and Agnes Shiffer Pollock. A World War II veteran, serving in the European Theater with the 78th Division, 309th Anti-Tank Division of the Army. Among the medals he received were the Combat Infantry Badge, a Bronze Star, three Bronze Battle Stars and the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service. He also received a special athletic award from Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower for participating in the G.I. Olympics after World War II. Pollock played professional baseball in five leagues, including the KOM League's Miami Blues in 1946. He was inducted into the Rhodes High School Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, in 2000. He was the maintenance supervisor for Security Bank for over 30 years. Survivors include his wife, Marye Pollock. Burial in G.A.R. cemetery in Miami.
