age 16, of Miami is in stable condition after being hit by a van Sunday night while crossing North Main street on foot. She would have started her junior year of high school today at Miami, but underwent surgery at a Joplin Missouri hospital to have steel rods placed in one leg. She also suffered a concussion and multiple cuts and bruises. No citations were issued to the driver.
