Hinkle, Dennis Drew

age 44, died at 7:50 am, Dec 28, 2002, of injries suffered in an automobile accident. Born Nov 26, 1958, in Stillwater Okla. He was a Navy veteran and was stationed in Maine. Cremated with no burial place given.

Dennis Drew Hinkle, a Picher Okla man awaiting trial on drug and firearms charges in Ottawa County died Sunday after being struck by a tractor-trailer rig on U.S. 69 just across the state line near Melrose Kansas. Hinkle was apparently attempting to repair his vehicle when the semi struck him. Ponounced dead at a Joplin Missouri hospital. In January of 2001, Hinkle was charged in Ottawa county Okla with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. ..

No citations have been issued and no charges are expected to be filed as the result of a Dec 28, 2002, motor vehicle accident that took the life of a rural Picher Okla man. Hinkle died in Joplin Missouri, after being kept alive by life support machinery so that his organs could be harvested for donation. Foul play is not suspected in Hinkle's death.
