Flores, Luis E.

Abstract Data

A 19-year-old Milwaukee Wisconsin man died just after 7 a.m. Sunday in a single vehicle accident on the Will Rogers Turnpike northeast of Miami. Flores suffered massive injuries and was pinned for 90 minutes after the accident in a car driven by his brother Manuel Flores. Manuel Flores, 28, also of Milwaukee, and Pablo Gomez Sanchez, 59, of Round Rock, Texas, and another passenger in the vehicle, suffered minor injuries and were treated and released at a Joplin Missouri Medical Center. Sanchez is the father-in-law of the Flores brothers. Miami firefighters used the jaws-of-life apparatus to free the men from the car. Manuel Flores was pinned in the car for 40 minutes and Gomez for 25 minutes. Manuel Flores' car was eastbound on the turnpike when the vehicle left the roadway and traveled 54 feet before striking the guard rail. Officials did not know why Flores' vehicle left the roadway.
