born May 15, 1921, in Afton Okla to John Theodore Dent and Effie Viola Gray Dent. A veteran, he retired from the U.S. Army as a master sergeant after serving from 1942 to 1972, during World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He had attained the rank of Warrant Officer Second Class. Married Ruby Pearl Nichols on Mar 1, 1942, she preceded him in death on Aug 14, 1997. Burial in Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens cemetery east of Miami.
