a man found dead at a Miami motel Tuesday has been identified. The body of Dale Richard Chaffin Jr., 46, was found by the housekeeping staff at the Townsman Motel. Chaffin, a Miami resident, checked into the motel at 900 E. Steve Owens Blvd. Monday afternoon, according to Todd Chenowith, a Miami police detective who is investigating the death. Chenowith said there were no signs of violence and that Chaffin's cause of death is not obvious. The body has been sent to the state medical examiner's office in Tulsa for an autopsy. Preliminary results should be available in the next day of two. It will take 10 to 12 weeks to complete toxicology tests, Chenowith said. The man's car was parked just outside the motel room. The man's driver's license gives a Miami address, but no utilities are turned on there, according to Chenowith.
