Beck, Hazel R.

died Feb 15, 2003, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita Kansas, after a short illness. She was 89. Born Sep 24, 1913, in Harrisonville Missouri, to Orlando Phelps and Mary Wagner Phelps. She moved to the Chetopa Kansas area as a young child. She was raised by her grandparents, John Wagner and Clara Wagner after her mother's death. She later lived in Vinita Okla. She was a licensed practical nurse and was employed at Eastern State Hospital until her retirement in 1976. Married Robert Lee Smith in 1930. Married Thomas Beck Jr. in 1952. He preceded her in death in January 1982. Burial in Oakhill cemetery in Chetopa Kansas.
