'Ombaska' Ballard, age 72, of Lincoln Nebraska, died Sep 20, 2002. Born Jun 4, 1930, in Guthrie Okla. He grew up in Quapaw Okla. A veteran, he served in the military during the Korean War. A poet, Lived and taught English and Native American culture in several states including Okla, Kansas, Idaho, California and Nebraska. He was a former professor with the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. Preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Ballard in Apr 2001. Cremated. Metcalf funeral home, Lincoln. A burial place was not give.
