Scott, Jason

Obituary -- 47 years old. Scott, ended his own life at Commerce Oklahoma, at 7 o'clock this morning by shooting himself in the left chest with a 12 gauge shotgun. He had been despondent and in ill health for some time, but members of the family had no inking of his intentions until they heard the shot in the bedroom where Scott had gone after returning from the barn lot. Dr. J. S. Jacoby was called and pronounced death was instantaneous from the charge of shot piercing the heart. Dr. Jacoby advised county Attorney A. Clark, classifying the death as suicide. The county authorities made no investigation. Scott was formerly employed by the Childress Mine Company as a millman. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie Scott; three daughters, Grace Scott, Yvonne Scott and Geraldine Scott, all of the home, one brother, Tom Scott of Baxter Springs Kansas; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Williams and Mrs. Edna Cissell of Los Angeles and Mrs. Gertie Walker of Higley Arizona. The Scott family lives at 305 South Cherry street. The Mitchelson undertaking company is in charge of the body. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
