Abstract Data
A terrible accident happened in Cardin Oklahoma last Friday night about 10:30 o'clock, which resulted in the death of Charlie Price, a young single man. He was the tool dresser on a drill owned by Si Jones, and was drilling a deep water well for the town. The driller was blown several feet in the air but escaped without injury. It seems that Mr. Price had just gone around to the boiler when the explosion happened, therefore he received the full force. The body was terribly mangled and only the back part of his skull could be found, as the face was blown entirely off. The cause to the disaster seems to be unknown. He is survived by his mother and father and brothers, John Price and Walter Price, who have lived in this vicinity for a number of years. A report of the explosion could be heard for miles, even putting out the lights of the miners who were working several hundred feet under the ground. Deceased was buried Saturday in the Miami cemetery.
