Obituary -- Mrs. Peterson was born Ida May Stelts in Bellville Ohio, in 1808. She died Tuesday, Jan 16, 1934, at the home of her daughter in Seneca Missouri. Her parents moved to Newton county Missouri, when she was a small child, and settled on Burkhart Prairie, where she lived until grown. She was married in 1885 to John Peterson. Several years ago they moved to Seneca where she has resided since. Her husband preceded her in death eight years ago. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Sidney Sparlin of Seneca; one sister, Mrs. Adeline Swank of Butler Ohio; two brothers, Cal Stelts of Omaha Nebraska, and Will Stelts of Seneca; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the South Methodist church of which she was a member, a choir sang, "In the Garden," and "The Land Where We'll Never Grow Old." Mr. Lawhorn and Mr. Ebert sang, "The City Four Square," and "Your Best Friend Is Always Near." The Roy R. T. Campbell, of Neosho Missouri, read the Scripture and offered prayer. Sermon was by the Rev. W. W. Garrett, pastor of the church. Pallbearers were: George Puryear, Charley Patton, P. H. Riley, Herbie Helm, Zeron Lawson and C. L. Higginbotham. Honorary pallbearers were: Mrs. Eva King, Mrs. C. Alexander, Mrs. Frank King, Mrs. Oren Morgan, Mrs. Mike Cooper and Miss Nancy Kellhofer, of the Royal Neighbor lodge of which Mrs. Peterson was a member. Burial was in the Seneca cemetery, under the direction of Mitchelson undertakers, Commerce Oklahoma.
