Obituary -- Pvt Earl Eugene McCoy, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry McCoy of Commerce, died Thursday night in an Atoka Oklahoma hospital from injuries received late Tuesday evening in an automobile accident near that city. It was reported today that McCoy, who was stationed at Camp Hood, was hitchhiking home when the accident occurred. No other details have been learned, however. The soldier's father has left for Atoka, and will accompany the body to Commerce, where it will be taken to the Mitchelson funeral home. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Obituary -- Military services in charge of the Miami American Legion post will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon in the Commerce First Baptist church for Pfc. Earl Eugene McCoy, 22. McCoy, who had been in the service for three years, nine months of which were spent in England and Germany, was on his way home from his base at Camp Hood Texas, when the accident occurred. He is survived by his wife, Catherine McCoy, and a son, Glen Eugene McCoy, of Valejo California; his parents; five brothers, George McCoy, stationed with the Army in the Philippines, and Robert McCoy, Jesse McCoy, Orvall McCoy and Henry Edon McCoy; all of Commerce; three sisters, Flossie McCoy, Henrietta Oklahoma and Shelvigine McCoy of the home.
