Abstract Data

Obituary -- 64 years old, a Picher Oklahoma junk deader living at the rear of the former site of the Fourth Street Laundry on East Fourth street, between Columbus street and Connell avenue at Picher, was found dead on the Gordon-McBee Mine lease, three-fourths of a mile northwest of Commerce Oklahoma, at 6 o'clock this morning. The body was found by Chic' Martin, a farmer living northwest of Commerce, who was en route to Commerce from his farm. Keller's death was attributed to a heart attack. He left Picher yesterday on one of his junk-collecting trips, intending to remain in the Commerce vicinity over night, according to his widow, Mrs. Katy Keller, and a son, James Keller, 17 years old. Upon finding Keller's body police chief S. A. Seymour of Commerce was immediately notified and reported the matter to county attorney Perry Porter. Upon viewing the body, the county attorney decided that death was due to natural causes and the Hal Mitchelson undertaking company of Commerce was instructed to take charge of the body. Keller had lived in Picher the last 12 years, coming here from Richmond, Missouri. Funeral plans are incomplete.
