Garrett, Vesta Elizabeth

Obituary -- Vista Elizabeth Garrett - age 63 years old, died at the Miami Baptist hospital Saturday night. Mrs. Garrett had been a resident of this county for the last 42 years. She is survived by her husband, Frank Garrett, Route 2 at Miami; six sons, Mart Garrett of Pittsburg Kansas, Fred Garrett of Arlington California, Corbet Garrett of Quapaw Oklahoma , Bob Garrett of Fairland Oklahoma, Jim Garrett and Hiram Garrett of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Hale of Commerce, Mrs. Willard Havens and Mrs. Alphonso Greenback of Quapaw and Mrs. Mayo Whitecrow of Miami; three sisters, Mrs. Mart Garrett of Arcadia Kansas; Mrs. Tillie Ballard of Arcadia Kansas, and Mrs. Hattie Apple of Baxter Springs; two brothers, Bud Speers of Columbus Kansas, and Henry Speers of Baxter Springs Kansas, and 16 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church in Quapaw. The Rev. Deering will officiate. Burial will be in the G.A.R. cemetery at Miami under the direction of the Mitchelson undertaking company. Note: See James Jim' Garrett.
