Abstract Data
George Evans, of Commerce, in charge of the sludge room of the Vinegar Hill Mill on the state line north of Picher, was found dead in the mill Saturday morning by the man who was to have relieved him. The cause of Mr. Evans' death was unknown but it was thought that he had climbed to the screen in the sludge room and in some way got tangled in the line shaft and was thrown to the floor. His neck was broken and he was bruised about the body. Mr. Evans leaves a wife and two children, a father and brother, all of whom reside in Commerce.
