A 40-year-old resident of Picher, Forrest R. Evans, died Tuesday afternoon in an ambulance while en route from his home to the office of a Miami physician. A former miner and barber, Evans had been in poor health for several months. Surviving are his wife, Juanita Evans, and seven children, ranging in age from six months to 13 years, all of the home at 601 South Ella street, Picher. The children are Richard Evans, Forrest Jr. Evans, William Evans, Stanley Evans, Anna Marie Evans, Betty Jean Evans, Linda Sue Evans and Patricia Jo Evans. Also surviving are Evans' mother, Mrs. Adeline Collins, Picher; three brothers, Harry Evans and Mearl Evans, both of Pontiac, and Rolla Evans, Waynesville Missouri; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Hopper, Quapaw Oklahoma; Mrs. Jewell Simmons, Waynesville; Mrs. Ruby Burt, Wichita Kansas, and Mrs. Golda Vanderpool, Pontiac Michigan. Funeral arrangements will be under direction of the Mitchelson mortuary, Commerce.
