Obituary -- Lawrence Christensen, a plasterer, committed suicide at Commerce Friday by hanging. Taking a piece of window cord, he made it fast over a joist, then standing on a nail keg, adjusted the noose around his neck. When the noose was adjusted to his satisfaction, Christian jumped off the keg. Breaking his neck. Christian had been working as a plasterer around Miami and Commerce for some time. He came here from Tulsa, where his family now resides. He was employed on one of the new houses being erected by William Worthing. C. T. Warner, deputy sheriff, was notified, went to Commerce, cut the body down and turned it over to Mitchelson, the undertaker, to prepare for burial. Mrs. Christian was notified and instructions from her will be awaited before perfecting arrangements for the funeral. There was no apparent cause for Christian ending his life. He seemed in the best humor and anxious to get to work. The house in which he ended his life had just been lathed and made ready for the plaster gang to begin work. He went into one of the rooms, and no one paid any attention to him, but he was gone so long a search was made and his body was found hanging from the joist. Burial place not in article.
