Funeral services for Raymond J. Atkins, 40 year old lead and zinc miner will be conducted at the Bethel tabernacle in Picher Oklahoma at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Henry Ford will officiate. A longtime resident of Picher, Atkins died in his home on East A street, Picher at 8:15 pm. Thursday, following a long illness. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pansy Atkins of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Raedean Bogard and Miss Mary Jane Atkins, both of the home, and Mrs. Estell Hodge of Baxter Springs Kansas; a son Hugh Edward Atkins of the home and his mother, Mrs. Maude Smith of Commerce. Burial will be in the Baxter Springs Kansas cemetery under direction of the Mitchelson funeral home of Commerce Oklahoma.
