Abstract Data

C. F. Andress, a miner, was instantly killed when he stumbled into a shaft and fell 200 feet Saturday morning at the Emma Gordon Mine, near Commerce. The shaft had been abandoned and covered over with boards. He was missing only a short time when his mangled body was found. Andrews was about 30 years old and came to Commerce from Pittsburg Kansas. He has relatives living here. The body is being held at the Mitchelson undertaking parlors, at Commerce. Note: The funeral record and newspaper article are so similar that they probably are the same person.
