John T. Darling, 22, 227 C street northeast, Miami, was pronounced dead at about 4 am Sunday from injuries he received in a one-car accident near Vinita Oklahoma. He was born Mar 8, 1963 at Columbus Ohio. He moved to the Miami area in April from Ohio. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Darling; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Darling, state of Ohio; three sisters, Kim Savage, Miami, and Violet Darling and Vicki Darling, both of Ohio; three brothers, names and addresses unavailable; maternal grandparents, and paternal grandparents. Cooper funeral home, Miami. A Northeast Oklahoma man was killed and another injured when their pickup truck ran off the road and crashed during a high speed chase at 1:20 am Sunday, about nine miles southeast of Vinita on a country road. Killed was John T. Darling, 22, Miami, a passenger in the pickup truck. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Miami hospital where he was taken following the accident... Leslie Griner, 21, Miami, the driver of the pickup truck was taken to Miami hospital where he was treated and released. The accident occurred when Griner lost control of his pickup truck while traveling at a high rate of speed and it ran off the road, traveled 117 feet and overturned one and one-half times, according to the Highway Patrol. Darling was thrown from the vehicle and pinned under the pickup for 25 minutes. Griner's truck was being pursued by officers of the Afton Oklahoma Police Department at the time of the accident, the patrol said.
