Abstract Data

David Arthur Pace - 78, a retired hard rock lead and zine mine driller, was found dead at 9:30 a.m. today in his apartment at 328 South Connell street, Picher Oklahoma. An examining physician attributed the death to natural causes and estimated Pace had been dead about 12 hours. He was slumped across a rocking chair when a son, Paul Pace of Picher, found the body this morning. The son had visited his father, who was suffering from a cold, Sunday night and arranged to take him to a doctor this morning. Pace apparently died soon after the visit. He had not slept in his bed last night. Born Oct 15, 1880 at Sarcoxie Missouri, Pace moved from Lakeside Missouri to Douthat Oklahoma in 1921 and had lived in the Picher-Douthat area since then. Surviving are seven sons, Thomas Pace of Modesto California; Charles Pace and Paul Pace of Picher; Donald Pace of Amarillo Texas; Morris Pace of Willow Springs Missouri; David Pace and Raymond Pace of Anderson Missouri; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Alice Cunningham, Lebanon Missouri and three sisters.
