Ellis Eugene Owens - 'Gene' Owens, of Baxter Springs Kansas, died Aug 21, 2004 at the Galena Kansas nursing center. He was 70. Born Aug 12, 1934 in String to Dewey Owens and Mattie Lee Goodall Owens. He lived in Baxter for the past five years, moving from Quapaw Oklahoma . He was a veteran of the Army, and was a foundry worker for General Powers in Quapaw.
