Clarence Millard - age 35, a pump man at the Martin C. Y. Semple Hard Rock Lead and Zinc Mill, on East A street, Picher, near Hockerville Oklahoma, lost his life at 5 this morning when he slipped and fell into a line shaft while attempting to throw a belt. His body was badly mangled before the machinery could be shut down. Millard is survived by his wife, Mrs. Estellene Millard, and three sons, Robert Millard, Donald Millard and Earl Millard, all at home, 208 East Tenth street, Picher Oklahoma. Other survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Millard, Picher; five brothers, Floyd Millard, Melvin Millard, Eddie Millard, Charles Millard and Howard Millard, all of Picher; and three sisters, Mrs. Mable Crutcher, Quapaw Oklahoma, and Mrs. Ruth Newlin and Mrs. Mary Mayberry, both of Picher. The body was taken in a Durnil ambulance to the American hospital in Picher and then to the Durnil funeral home, Picher.
