Joel Cecil Mahurin - age 75, of 103 S. Alice in Picher Oklahoma, died Jan 10, 1994 in Miami hospital. Born Nov 14, 1918, in Cylone Missouri to Andrew J. Mahurin and Cynthia Jane Cooper Mahurin. Married Effie May Proctor on Oct 18, 1943, at Pineville Missouri, she survives. He moved to Picher from Stella Missouri and has lived in the area for 40 years. He was a retired hard rock lead and zinc miner. Survivors include two sons, Cecil Harold Mahurin of Picher and Darrell Laven Mahurin of North Miami Oklahoma; five daughters, Betty June Turner of Miami; Mary Louise Hayworth of Big Cabin Oklahoma; Delta May Whited and Brenda Joyce Grant, both of Quapaw Oklahoma , and Linda Sue Mahurin of the home; a brother, Ralph Mahurin of Anderson Missouri.
