A photo. Born Jul 17, 1914, in Ottawa county Oklahoma to Ray Heistand and Myrtle Ellison Heistand. A veteran, he served in the U.S. Army air Corps during World War II in North Africa. He received the Purple Heart for injuries received in combat. Married Martha Deloris Jarrett on Jun 26, 1946, in Lowell Kansas, she survives. Paul Thomas funeral home, Picher. Burial in Greenlawn cemetery in Kansas.
