Walter Chapman - of Treece Kansas underwent an operation yesterday at the office of Dr. I. Phillips in connection with an infected lung. Following the operation he was removed to his home in a Todd ambulance.

Walter Chapman, about 30 years old, died at 6 o'clock this morning at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Chapman, Treece. Death followed a long illness, being attributed to lung trouble. In addition to his parents, Chapman is survived by his wife. He worked in the hard rock lead and zinc mines for some time prior to being taken ill. Todd undertaking company, Picher.

Chapman, 26 years old, died yesterday morning at the home of a sister, Mrs. Clarence Walker, in Treece. [Note: His age changes and the place where he died changes.] Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Anita Chatman; the parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Chatman of Treece; four sisters, Mrs. Charles Whited of Carterville Missouri, Mrs. David Myers, Mrs. Clarence Walker and Mrs. Guy Fesperman of Treece, and one brother, Glenwood Chatman of Treece. Burial in Greenlawn cemetery in Kansas.
