Horton, Lawrence E.

Lawrence E. Horton - age 76, of Miami, died Apr 17, 2000, at Miami hospital. Born Feb 2, 1924, in Rocky Comfort Missouri to George Horton and Dorothy Clark Horton. He lived in rural Miami for the past 19 years, moving from Racine Missouri. A veteran. Married Kathryn McGarrah on Jul 19, 1941, at Pineville Missouri, she survives. Paul Thomas funeral home, Miami. Burial in Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens cemetery, east of Miami.

Horton served in Troop C, 7th Calvary, U.S. Army, Fort Riley Kansas, 1944 and honorably discharged in 1946. He served in Combat Infantry Division 6A on Luzon Island, receiving Philippines Liberation ribbons with one Bronze Star and a Good Conduct medal.
