Abstract Data
James L. Sanders, met instant death last night shortly before 10 pm at the Tulsa-Quapaw Mine northwest of Picher, as the result of a premature explosion. The young man's body was badly mangled by the flying mass of rock. Sanders was employed as a powder helper. He was working with his father, Frank Sanders, powderman. The men were engaged in loading a round of holes, young Sanders on one side of a pillar, and his father on the reverse side. This saved the father from serious injury. The funeral had been postponed due to the delayed arrival of a sister from California
